Disclosure and Joint Responsibility
Brooker Law, PLLC complies with all applicable state bar rules when entering fee-sharing agreements with other lawyers. The State Bar of Texas authorizes lawyers to share fees as long as the arrangement is disclosed to the client and the client agrees to such an arrangement in writing. The Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct also make each referring lawyer jointly responsible for the case and require the referring lawyer to make reasonable efforts to ensure adequate representation and client communication.
